April, May, and June 2018 Empties

I am so far behind with this. I've been decently good at using up a lot of what I've had - including samples. This is a mixture of stuff I used between April, May, and June 2018.  Life has been super busy so I've not had time to do a whole lot of writing - as much as I've wanted to.  So much in one picture! I am actually pretty proud of myself for how much I've gone through. Some of the items are in closeups below. One of the items I didn't get a good picture of was the Farsali Unicorn Essence. I don't know how much this actually helps my skin - but I love the smell and I love the subtle shimmer. Only thing I don't particularly like is the price. I was lucky and acquired another one by swapping some of my unwanted makeup. I had quite a few of the Urban Decay foil samplers of the eyeshadow primer. I've always loved their eyeshadow primer and have used the Original or Enigma (finally dried out on me after a bit) and haven't used

March 2018 Empties

So March flew by and I was able to use a decent amount of items. Some make up and some not. There were also some items destined to the garbage bin and some that I'm on the fence about tossing. During my adventure in majorly downsizing my collection my thought has been to focus on products I truly enjoy using. And not just use to use them.  I finished some of my normal everyday items. This is my favorite body wash or it's Aveeno equivalent. I'm not picky if it's store brand or name brand. I love the Winter Candy Apple soap. One of my favorite scents. I don't purchase a lot from Bath and Body Works because I'm picky a out smelss. And then deodorant. Out of these two the deree worked the best and since I wear a lot of black the no white marks is a huge plus .  Used up a giant bag of cotton balls. I really prefer cotton rounds to remove make-up. But cotton balls are cotton balls.   Went through one of my favorite hair products. The Wella Texture Touch has

January and February 2018 Empties

The first round of 2018 empties has begun! I have all the items I used up in January/February 2018. And I have a few items that are hitting the garbage can because they've gone bad or one of my minions got into them again. I love my perfume. I find a scent and I stick with it. I'm such a creature of habit. In one of my first Birchbox orders I got the sample of Hello by Harvey Prince and it has fast become a favorite. So when I had enough Birchbox points - I purchased the full-size. I just finally finished it as well as a mini sample I had laying around. I am totally keeping the full-sized packaging. It is so pretty.   A staple in my collection of products I love has been the Shea Moisture 10-in-1 shampoo. Due to budget cutting I won't be repurchasing any more. But I love how this (and the conditioner) make my hair look and feel. The Thayer's Witch Hazel has been a staple for quite some time now. I use it in the morning after my shower and at night after I was

Empties Round 3 - the last of 2017

Just wanted to wrap up the last of my 2017 empties!! :D I finished a nice number of products in 2017 and while I was going through my collection - there are some items I'm tossing because they are old and were going bad. (I also apologize that I don't have links...I wanted to finally get this posted so I can start working on my 2018 Project Pan and 2018 Empties). I love my Aveeno. The Positively Radiant 60 Second In Shower treatment is amazing and I've repurchased it again. I didn't really care for the Clear Complexion. I didn't notice that it did anything for my skin in preventing or helping breakouts. . The Philosophy Purity face wipes are amazing and do a good job for my lazy days where I don't feel like going through all the steps I normally do to take my makeup off. I just don't like how expensive they are. The other Positively Radiant products - I keep repurchasing as I like the scent, I like that they do seem to keep my face nice and

2018 is going to be a big year of changes...

So 2017 didn't end like I expected and 2018 is going to be an interesting year. In 2017 I filed for divorce. In 2018 it will be final and this will be the first time I will be single since I was 20 years old. In the aftermath of all that my life is drastically changing from a financial position for some time. I am required to pay both spousal and child support (even though custody is split evenly). While assessing my finances it looks like I'm going to have to buckle down substantially and declutter my life as much as possible in order to stay afloat. With that said I would like to continue writing as an outlet.  I'm decluttering almost the entirety of my makeup collection because I need the cash I can get from that during this time or today.  It will be a low buy to mostly no buy sort of year.  But I thought I could explore more project panning. Also I want to write about ways I'm making ends meet.  My instant pot is going to be my new best friend I think this year

Project Pan - 2017

So I can't believe it's already 2018 and I meant to write about this in 2017. Back in June 2017 I started a project pan with an awesome group of people on Facebook. We all have a fairly large collection of makeup and such and everyone was on board with the idea to try and do a project pan. I think project pan has been fairly popular lately. I was curious about it last spring so I started researching what it was exactly and why people where doing it. I don't quite recall which particular article I read or got this from anymore at this point (it's been about 6 months - heh) but if you spent so much money on something why not use it and appreciate it? I know when it comes to shiny pretties you never want to touch it because it's so shiny but it is meant to be used and loved. So that is what we decided to do. We laid out some fairly simple guidelines to try our best with. * This is meant to be fun and show some love to our stashes! * Any number of products y

New year, new organization

So at the end of 2017 I decided I needed to do some organization of my collection. I've been collecting makeup since 2014 and it is scattered between my bathroom, my closet, and my dresser in my room. It was difficult to keep track of what I had and use things consistently because I would have some stuff everywhere. In the summer I revamped my computer desk with acquiring Alex drawers and a table top from IKEA and it had been working awesomely for my computing needs. I know the internet is gung-ho for Alex drawers when it comes to makeup organization as well. So I purchased another set of Alex drawers and put them in my closet to start organizing  and that never happened. It just wasn't convenient to put some stuff in my closet, have some stuff on my dresser, and then some stuff in the bathroom where I would get ready in the morning. Not to mention I know it's not a good idea to keep makeup in the bathroom because of the humidity. And that did concern me because I didn&
